About the role
This position reports to the Director of Education. Provides an optimal practice environment that ensures the delivery of quality patient care through the use of research and quality improvement activities. Participates in the expert clinical practice, education, research, consultation, and clinical leadership as the major components of his or her role. Develops programs, policies, procedures, and standards of care to ensure patient's nursing care needs are assessed, evaluated, and met. Consults with clinical practitioners about the care planning for patients. Role models proactive, collaborative working relationships across all hospital functions in an interdisciplinary approach to patient care. Provides clinical leadership and participates in the initial and ongoing evaluation of staff.

Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- California Fire and Life Safety Card - National Organization within 30 days of hire
- 3 years clinical experience in a NICU equivalent to a Regional or Community Level Ill NICU
- Computer experience
Qualifications
- Required: Master's Degree in Nursing, 3 years clinical experience in a NICU, California Fire and Life Safety Card - National Organization within 30 days of hire
- Preferred: Teaching experience, ACCNS-N (Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist - Neonatal), CNS (Clinical Nurse Specialist), California Certification NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)- Instructor Level, RNC-NIC (Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing Certification)
