About the role
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) – NICU provides clinical leadership, education, research, consultation, and policy development to ensure high-quality, patient-centered neonatal care in an 18-bed Level III NICU. They develop programs and standards of care, collaborate across disciplines, and mentor staff to foster clinical excellence and ethical decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Teaching, coaching, and professional leadership
- Participating in research and quality improvement initiatives
- Consulting on care planning and ethical considerations
- Supporting staff evaluation and development
- Promoting interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
- California Fire and Life Safety Card
- At least 3 years of NICU clinical experience at a regional or community level
- Computer proficiency
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Teaching experience
- ACCNS-N, CNS California Certification, NRP Instructor, or RNC-NIC certifications
