About the role
Texas Health Frisco is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the NICU. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care through nursing education, research, and innovations in practice. The department features a strong team culture, a couplet care model, and averages 120 births per month. This is a 36-hour per week position with shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm.
Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing required, or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
- BSN preferred
- One year of experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program
- Two years of NICU experience strongly preferred
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent care and maintained quarterly required
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
- NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days required and maintained annually
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
