Clinical Nurse Specialist-Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Work Schedule
This unique opportunity is a 100% FTE position scheduled to typically work Monday through Friday, day shift hours, however some off hours or weekends may be required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
Lead Evidence-Based Practice and Quality Improvement Initiatives
Lead evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives within American Family Children's Hospital's nationally ranked, Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, improving outcomes for critically ill newborns and their families.
Serve as the Neonatal Clinical Expert
- Mentoring nurses
- Advancing nursing practice
- Implementing new technologies
- Providing consultation for the care of medically and surgically complex neonates
Required Work Experience
- Three or more years of NICU nursing experience is highly preferred.
- Two years of relevant clinical nursing experience.
Education
- A Master's Degree or doctoral degree in Nursing is required.
- A Master's Degree or doctoral degree (DNP or PhD) with a CNS role focus is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- A Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification is required upon hire.
- A Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required within 6 months upon hire.
- A Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required within 6 months upon hire.
- Certification in a specialty area of practice is preferred.
