Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 Complex Wound Management

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an RN with advanced wound management experience to undertake advanced nursing practice in the community setting and support the educational and professional development of Community Nursing staff.

Employment Type: Temporary Part Time until 16 May 2027 (with possibility of ongoing employment)
Position Classification: Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2
Remuneration: $64.71 - $66.84 per hour
Hours Per Week: 14

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Nurse Practitioner (NP) and TNP to support NSHNS Community Nursing staff and community-based patients (including in RACFs) with complex wound management requirements.
• Provide advanced wound-related care including comprehensive assessment, referrals to services and specialists depending on client need.
• Deliver wound management services such as compression therapy, NPWT, pressure injury management, conservative sharp wound debridement, vascular profiling, and more.
• Provide palliative care through to end-of-life care, including syringe driver management, respiratory/heart failure monitoring, IDC/SPC changes, continence assessments, CVAD care, and more.
• Lead clinical practice through education, mentorship, and implementation of initiatives that enhance wound care service delivery and patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skills and experience in wound management, with a commitment to evidence-based practice, patient-centred care and quality improvement.
• Current Assessor Competency (either LHD Competency, or Cert IV Training and Assessment).
• Proven ability to lead clinical practice through education, mentorship and the implementation of initiatives that enhance wound care service delivery and patient outcomes.
• Highly developed communication and collaboration skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
• Possession of a current NSW Driver Licence.
