About the role
Maintains an evidence-based practice wound care prevention program and serves as a clinical expert in skin and wound care management for patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Directs organizational efforts to decrease/eliminate hospital acquired pressure injuries and manages acute and chronic wounds through the nursing process.
- Collaborates with the medical staff and nursing leadership in developing and monitoring standards of care and quality indicators based on hospital and benchmark data.
Requirements
- Essential: BSN from an accredited Nursing school.
- Essential: Four years of related experience required.
- Experience in the following highly preferred: Compression therapy, Application of cellular and tissue-based products (CTPs)/skin substitutes, Total Contact Casting, Burn dressing changes, Suture and staple removal, Wound photography and documentation, EPIC experience.
- Credentials Essential: Wound Certification required or within 1 year of hire.
- Registered Nurse-LIC Basic Life Support.
