About the role
The position supports the Orthopedics Specialty team at Maine Medical Center. Operating Room experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Supports the hospital’s mission, vision, and values by demonstrating behaviors such as excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient and family centered care, commitment to the community, and accountability.
- Assesses, diagnoses, identifies outcomes, plans, implements, documents, and evaluates nursing care based on national standards of nursing practice and Maine Medical Center policies.
- Delivers care and coordinates patient and family care across various settings including inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and community-based services.
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Maine.
- At least 1 year prior RN work experience.
- Operating Room experience required.
- Basic knowledge of nursing practices, principles, and processes.
- Analytical ability to identify patient conditions and take appropriate actions.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Demonstrates a caring nursing practice and promotes a healing environment.
- Knowledge and technical skills to care for most patient populations on the unit.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Must matriculate to a BSN program within 1 year of hire with completion attained within 5 years of hire.
- Evidence of 10 hours of ongoing education per year.
Skills

Pay
The base range for this position is $41.34/hour (1 year of experience) to $60.22/hour (20 years of experience).
