Clinical Nurse - PRN

About the role

Provides direct patient care in a 38-bed GI/GU Surgical Unit, supporting patients with diverse conditions such as Crohn's disease, colon and rectal cancers, urinary and urological cancers, and post-surgical recovery. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans, ensuring patient safety and promoting family-centered education. Offers a supportive learning environment with opportunities for growth and a focus on high-quality, evidence-based care. The role emphasizes patient safety, teamwork, and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences and cultural factors.
• Educate patients and families on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
• Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and professional development activities.
• Document care plans with clear goals, ensuring effective communication across care settings.
• Maintain adherence to standards of nursing care and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• Licensing: Valid RN license required.
• Experience: No prior experience required; 2+ years preferred.
