Clinical Nurse - Pediatric Surgery

About the role

Provides direct patient care in a pediatric setting, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating families on managing illnesses, medications, and post-treatment needs. Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and communicate individualized care plans, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Utilizes critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences and cultural factors. Maintains a safe work environment as this position is safety-sensitive.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient needs across physical, emotional, and psychosocial domains.
• Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans with collaborative input.
• Educate patients and families on health management, medication administration, and post-discharge care.
• Participate in safety and quality improvement activities and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• RN license required.
• At least 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience preferred; prior experience in orthopedics is a plus.
• Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
