About the Role

Provides direct patient care in a 32-bed oncology unit, managing moderate to high acuity cases, including bone marrow transplant and oncology patients. Uses critical nursing skills to evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs while considering patient preferences and barriers. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring strong safety awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for oncology patients.
  • Promote patient and family-centered care through education on illness management and medication use.
  • Ensure patient safety and participate in quality and regulatory activities.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care across the continuum.
  • Develop and document care plans, communicate effectively with healthcare providers, and support professional development.

Requirements

  • Active RN license.
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Less than 2 years of experience desirable, but no prior experience required.
