Responsibilities
- Promotes the organizational philosophy, objectives, and standards of care, North Carolina Nursing Practice Act and other governing agencies.
- Promotes a harmonious working environment by utilizing good communication skills, and team building concepts.
- Provides problem resolution and communication of operational issues.
- Ensures a safe environment for patients and the staff in accordance with the organization’s safety policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Plans, assesses, facilitates, directs and monitors staff development activities to ensure clinical competence.
- Analyzes unit operations through the Quality Assessment and Improvement Process (QAPI).
- Identifies and implements changes that will enhance effectiveness of patient care delivery and patient educational needs in accordance with organizational policies and procedures and standards of care.
- Maintains a leadership role through program planning and development, facility management coverage in the absence of the Facility Manager and/or Nurse Administrator.
- Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the facility’s expense budget in collaboration with the Facility Manager and/or Nurse Administrator.
- Accountable for other duties such as development of policies and procedures and data collection.
Physical Demands
Requires standing for extended periods of time, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and reaching. May require occasional walking, climbing stairs, kneeling, crouching, and stooping. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Education Requirements and Position Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, preferred.
- Current RN licensure appropriate to the state of practice.
- ACLS Certification Required.
- 1-year recent dialysis experience.
- 1-3 years of management experience, preferred, but not limited to, experience in hemodialysis.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and to fill in when needed.
- Excellent bedside manner and communication skills.
