This role is within the Radiology Department at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, part of the Washington University Medical Center, ranked among the top five in the United States with over 453,000 diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures annually. You will work alongside world-renowned Interventional and Neuro Radiologists, contributing to life-changing patient care decisions using the latest diagnostic and therapeutic tools.

The Vascular and Neuro Interventional teams include highly specialized professionals performing complex procedures such as cerebral angiography, stent placements, aneurysm coilings, angiographic studies, nonvascular interventions, and central venous catheter placements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of nursing care standards.
  • Promote patient and family-centered care in a healing environment.
  • Educate patients and families on managing illness or injury, post-treatment home care, and medication administration.
  • Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Engage in professional development.
  • Develop, implement, and document individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, and family.
  • Ensure communication of the care plan across the continuum of care.
  • Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to care standards.
  • Assess patient preferences, barriers to care, and population-specific needs (emotional, spiritual, cultural).

This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe work practices.

Requirements

  • Active RN license.
  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing (Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred).
  • 2 years of recent ICU, ED, Cath Lab, or IR experience.
  • No prior supervisory experience required.

Schedule

7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, plus on-call duties.
