Role Overview
This position involves providing direct patient care in a Medical-Surgical unit, including oncology patients and administering inpatient chemotherapy. The RN will perform assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient needs, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The role emphasizes patient and family-centered care, education on illness management, and collaboration with the healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Promote a healing environment through patient and family education.
- Participate in safety, quality, and regulatory activities.
- Develop, document, and communicate care plans.
- Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and barriers.
- Maintain safety and alertness as this is a safety-sensitive position.
Qualifications and Skills
- RN license required; BSN preferred.
- No prior experience necessary; less than 2 years preferred.
- Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
