About the role
The Clinical Education Specialist (RN) at Mercy supports the onboarding, education, competency validation, and ongoing professional development of nursing and clinical co-workers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver educational programs that promote clinical excellence, patient safety, and a positive patient experience.
- Serve as a key resource for nursing staff, leaders, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Support orientation programs, competency validation, performance improvement initiatives, and continuing education for both licensed and unlicensed healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing with 3 years of critical care nursing experience, or Associate degree in Nursing with:
- 10 years of hospital nursing experience, OR 5 years of hospital nursing experience and active enrollment in an RN-to-BSN program
- At least 3 years of critical care nursing experience is a must.
- Current applicable state nursing license.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice and the ability to positively influence patient care delivery.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of patient care equipment and clinical technology.
Qualifications
- Specialty certification or active pursuit of certification related to area of responsibility.
- Two years of teaching or educational experience.
- Additional life support certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, TNCC, and/or ENPC.
