About the Role

As an Operating Room CVOR Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge RN) at HCA HealthONE Aurora, you’ll be part of an interdisciplinary team, working under the general supervision of the unit’s director. You will assume responsibility for directing and coordinating all functions in the OR Department on your designated shifts, demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to cardiac patients and supervise other staff.

This role requires taking call.

Responsibilities

• Act as a resource person and liaison between specialty team members, other staff, surgeons, and vendors.
• Assist with the overall management of patient care in the OR, including supervising staff, performance evaluations, counseling, coaching, hiring, and day-to-day operational supervision.
• Ensure department compliance with state, federal, and healthcare regulatory agencies.
• Collaborate with other Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNCs) to ensure surgical procedures are thoroughly prepared prior to surgery.
• Verify the accuracy of preference cards and the OR schedule.
• Work closely with surgery schedulers to streamline and verify the flow of the OR schedule.

Requirements

• Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS and PALS certification.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
• Two (2) years of acute care experience as an Operating Room (OR) RN.
• Previous CVOR experience required.
• Previous charge nurse/service coordinator experience.
