About the role

Manages the daily operations of the assigned department, unit, or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.

May provide direct care to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Maintains patient records and documentation.
  • Makes rounds to monitor patient progress and assess needs.
  • Assesses the quality of patient care delivered.
  • Evaluates needs of patients and families and provides patient and family centered care.
  • Manages complaints and conflicts through to resolution.
  • Affirms departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Assists with the identification, determination and need for systems, equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains proper working order of equipment and ensures adequate supplies.
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management.
  • May oversee scheduling, recruitment, payroll and student engagements.

Requirements

  • Accredited Program: Nursing (Required)
  • ACLS Certification_non ecard (ACLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification (FETAL HEART) - Association of Womens Health Obstetrics and Neonatal Nurse (AWOHNN)
  • NRP Certification (NRP) - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
  • Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years nursing experience required.
