About the role

Serves as Leavenworth County Health Department Clinical Manager under the general supervision of the Administrative Director. Performs administrative and supervision tasks related to clinical activities. Performs other duties as assigned by the Health Department Administrative Director.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and evaluates staff.
• Captures and participates in clinics.
• Provides nursing services to walk-in clients.
• Schedules and assigns nursing staff.
• Facilitates staff development.
• Provides guidance for staff, functions as resources for staff.
• Assumes leadership of Leavenworth County Health Department in the absence of the department administrator.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
• Four (4) years of nursing experience.
• Valid Kansas State Registered Nurse license.
• Supervisory experience of at least three years.

Skills

• Knowledge of cultural competency in working with a diverse group of clients.
• Knowledge of leadership and management principles.
• Knowledge of principles of human behavior.
• Knowledge of professional nursing standards and care.
• Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally.
• Ability to assess the strengths and weaknesses of staff.
• Strong computer skills.
