About the role
Montgomery Eye Physicians seeks a Clinical Manager to oversee clinical activities and train technicians.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a scalable training strategy for ophthalmic technicians
- Design, develop, and evaluate training programs using various methods including tech-based learning, simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, and case studies
- Ensure all training complies with JCAHPO standards and complete annual/bi-annual skills competencies for all active ophthalmic technicians
- Train on all new and current diagnostic equipment and organize, schedule, and conduct training for new hires, re-training, and new initiatives
- Develop and maintain a library of training materials and conduct hands-on training within the clinical setting
- Assess the effectiveness of training and set training goals and objectives
- Aid with patient flow, diagnostic testing, and technician exam components as needed
- Work with providers to develop protocols and update manuals as needed
- Onboard new clinical hires, conduct performance reviews, and handle disciplinary actions and terminations
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with HR procedures
- Support training initiatives by building a team of trainers and other support staff
- Travel as needed to support operations and training
Requirements
- High School Diploma required, advanced degree preferred
- JCAHPO certification required, COT preferred, COA required
- 5 years Ophthalmology experience preferred
- Experience conducting or developing training programs preferred
- Proven ability to educate and train clinical staff
- 5 years of progressively responsible operations experience in a clinical healthcare environment required
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Advanced degree preferred
- JCAHPO certification required
- COT preferred
- COA required
- 5 years Ophthalmology experience preferred
- Experience conducting or developing training programs preferred
Skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards by JCAHPO and other regulatory agencies
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
