About the role
The Clinical Logistics Associate I supports the Logistics Supervisor by managing the daily ordering and restocking of assigned on-hand inventory in the storeroom, ensuring that supplies meet established PAR levels. This includes replenishing perpetual inventory, handling daily receiving functions, performing case picking, and managing restocking of returned supplies.
Responsibilities
- Maintains replenishment of supplies with established par levels according to OR Materials set PARS.
- Performs daily receiving functions following delivery of supplies from Clinical Logistics.
- Fulfills case picking responsibilities for the Operating Rooms.
- Restocks all returned unused products from the operating rooms back into the storerooms.
- Performs monthly cycle counts of perpetual inventory and checks for expired supplies, as observed by the Logistics Manager.
- Assumes responsibility for personal/professional growth and development.
- Ensures a safe and orderly environment within the storerooms in compliance with hospital policies.
- Contributes to the efficient operation of the OR through the performance of various related special projects.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, and familiarity with Logistics functions related to inventory, ordering, receipt, and stocking, and maintenance of appropriate PAR levels is preferred.
- Must be able to work with OR Cluster Coordinators and OR Logistics staff in managing supply inventories in the OR as they relate to Pick Lists.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, preferably handheld technology-assisted systems.
- Skills to operate a computer for data entry, extraction, report generation, and information management are preferable.
Physical Demands
- Works within perioperative departments across storerooms as assigned by Logistics Manager.
- Wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required in the OR.
- Lifts boxes up to 50 lbs.
- Pushes supply trucks up to 500 lbs.
- Stands, squats, walks for the entire 8-hour shift.
