About the role
The Clinical Liaison is a registered RN/LPN who maintains and increases the use of Good Shepherd Hospice in assigned nursing facilities in an ethical and compliant manner. This role provides customer service, education, and in-servicing, while fostering positive communication between Good Shepherd Hospice and partnering facilities.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with identified referral sources in all assigned facilities to ensure customer service for all eligible patients who need hospice, facilitating timely access.
- Assist with admission planning by communicating with patients’ physicians and nursing facilities regarding evaluations, admission orders, plans of care, medications, and necessary records. Coordinate durable medical equipment (DME) as needed.
- Utilize required technology daily and weekly, including email, Outlook, and CRM systems.
- Maintain an established contact and weekly education/in-service average as set by the Director, including follow-ups with referral sources for patients evaluated but not admitted.
- Provide customer service through informational visits and evaluations with patients and families.
- Assist in developing market- and company-wide growth strategies.
- Achieve and exceed goals set by Directors.
- Ensure positive engagement between sales and clinical members of the hospice team.
Requirements
- Ability to maintain and grow assigned facilities ethically.
- Strong organizational and customer service skills.
- High level of internal and external visibility; ownership of defined territory.
- Timeliness in submitting defined reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Some work outside of normal business hours required.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
- Strong desire to network with other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to attend offsite training and professional organization meetings.
- Adhere to and participate in GSH HIPAA privacy practices, Business Ethics and Compliance programs, and all GSH policies and procedures.
- All clinical decisions made under the direction of a medical director and clinical supervisor, in accordance with CMS guidelines.
Qualifications
- Current RN/LPN license in the state of the assigned program, in good standing with the license board.
- Evidence of license renewal as required by GSH policies and procedures.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as required by the automobile insurance carrier.
- Thorough knowledge of sales techniques and market analysis, with a strong desire to meet and exceed goals.
- Commitment to the hospice philosophy of care.
- Proficient in financial analysis and technology (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Extensive experience in consultative sales, with expertise in customers and competition within the assigned region.
- Experience in customer service.
Relationships
- Build and foster relationships with all referral personnel and employees within assigned nursing facilities.
- Maintain positive internal relationships and ensure excellent teamwork within the sales team.
