Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and complex tests on clinical specimens
• Perform a variety of automated and manual tests in all lab areas, which include Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Coagulation, Urinalysis and Microbiology following established procedures and without immediate supervision
• May be assigned to a specific section or may rotate in all sections
• When the technologist meets NYSDOH supervisory criteria may be assigned to perform “in-charge” responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor
• Obtain and receive laboratory specimens, including, blood, urine, and body fluids
• Perform and interpret clinical laboratory tests used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease in this clinically dynamic position

Required Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent curriculum)
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York State Education Department

Preferred Criteria

• ASCP certification
• 2-3 years of experience

Pay

$65.00/Hourly

Schedule

This is a per diem position working every other Sunday.
