Responsibilities

• Establish and monitor the department's quality control policies and ensure documentation of all quality control activities, instrument, and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
• Ensure departmental supplies are stocked and well maintained.
• Correlate laboratory methods, procedures, and patient test results with age-specific population criteria; demonstrate appropriate understanding of the needs of patients and visitors for each specific age group.
• Address safety and psychological needs in planning or delivering care.
• Establish and implement service priorities and workflow patterns; monitor workflow to assure prompt and efficient delivery of services.
• Demonstrate the ability to evaluate departmental performance and recommend measures to improve services and quality of current methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science from an accredited school.
• Licensed under the NYS Department of Education as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Knowledge of hematology, chemistry, blood bank, and/or microbiology preferred.
• Hospital experience desired.
• Must work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Good oral and written communication skills essential.

Pay

Salary range: USD $59.94 - USD $77.77 per hour. This range serves as a good faith estimate; actual pay will encompass factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. The salary range does not include differential pay or other forms of compensation.
