Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Job Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Absorb and assist with processing of specimens when needed

Requirements

• Demonstrate proficiency in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory testing experience

Preferred Qualifications

• ASCP or AMT certification

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Proficient with computers
• High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Able to work flexible hours, including rotating weekends

Pay

$10,000 sign on bonus (for externals)

Schedule

Shift 2, 3x8 hours, Weekdays, 3:00pm to 11:00pm; Rotating weekends
