Clinical Laboratory Technical Specialist, Blood Bank (Full Time)

About the role

Responsible for the daily operations of a specific laboratory area including staff training, and competency assessment. Responsible for technical and scientific oversight of the designated specialty area. Maintains compliance and meets all technical regulatory requirements of certification for the specific area of lab and is knowledgeable of advanced scientific principles within the specialty area and applies that knowledge to the technical, procedural, and research of the area.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine, standardized biological and/or biochemical test procedures on blood, urine, tissue, body fluids, and other specimen sources.
• Trains new personnel and teaches students.
• Maintains compliance and meets all technical regulatory requirements of certification for the specific area of lab.
• Applies advanced scientific principles to the technical, procedural, and research aspects of the specialty area.
• Deals with pressure to meet deadlines, maintains accuracy, and handles constantly changing situations.
• Deals with a variety of people, handles stressful situations, and handles conflict.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science required.
• Minimum of four (4) years laboratory training or experience in the specialties performed required.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist required.
• State of Montana license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist required.

• Knowledgeable of advanced scientific principles within the specialty area.
• Ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, maintain accuracy, and handle constantly changing situations.
• Ability to deal with a variety of people, handle stressful situations, and handle conflict.

Pay

Starting Wage: $38.64/hourly

Actual offered wage is based on applicable experience.
