Responsibilities
- Ensures adequate performance of all laboratory procedures
- Performs high complexity clinical tests
- Presents data and information across all levels
- Develops and maintains detailed laboratory procedures manual
- Maintains QC programs for the department
- Selects, retains, and trains qualified laboratory personnel
- Prepares employees’ time and attendance records
- Assists in establishing budgetary controls
- Prepares reports detailing departmental activities
Qualifications
- Master of Arts or Master of Science Degree from an accredited institution with relevant experience
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with additional relevant experience
- At least 6 years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity preferred
- Nationally: ASCP certification for the assigned specialty
- State licenses: ASCP certification, FL: current state supervisor level license, CA: current state supervisor level license, TN: current state supervisor level license
