Clinical Laboratory Supervisor - FLOW Cytometry - Evenings
About the role
At MD Anderson Cancer Center, you will lead a team of highly skilled professionals in the FLOW Cytometry department, ensuring accurate and cutting-edge laboratory testing that directly impacts patient outcomes. Responsibilities
- Ensures all employees perform accurate Flow Cytometry testing of all specimen types.
- Supervises employees and assists while techs troubleshoot difficult specimens, and oversees in-process improvement in wet lab areas.
- Leads troubleshooting of computer functions and ensures all employees are competent and able to perform computer functions.
- Covers the maintenance of policies and procedures for all clinical testing.
- Reviews and updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in a timely manner to ensure that current practices match the approved procedures.
- Leads the evaluation and validation of new methodologies, tests, and instrumentation.
- Aids in the implementation, testing, and modification recommendations for LIS and EMR applications.
- Performs clinical lab assays, tests, and procedures as necessary.
Requirements
- Technical Leadership: Subject matter expert, ensures accuracy in testing, supervises, troubleshoots, and leads process improvement.
- Productivity, Supervision, and Teambuilding: Trains employees, ensures productivity standards, discovers and leads process improvements, and fosters a positive team environment.
- Quality Oversight: Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, performs competency assessments, enforces policies, and participates in strategic development.
Qualifications
- Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related science field or successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Clinical Laboratory Science/Molecular Genetic Technology program.
- Required Experience: 8 years of clinical laboratory compliance and operations experience, including 3 years of lead or supervisory experience.
- Preferred Education: Master's Degree in a related science field.
- Preferred Experience: Doctorate in a related science field.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $120,000 annually.
Schedule
The ideal candidate will have FLOW Cytometry experience and works evenings from 2pm - 10:30pm.
