Clinical Laboratory Scientists

Responsibilities

• Performs high complexity testing on various body fluids.
• Evaluates results of testing and quality controls, calibrations, calibration verification, linearity, and reportable range.
• Performs venipunctures and capillary blood collections using proper patient identification, correct tubes, handling, and labelling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical, Physical, Biological, Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field.
• ASCP, NCA, AMT, MT (AMT), MT (HEW), or CLS certification or equivalent required.
• Willingness and ability to fill shifts to meet 24-hour staffing needs, including working days, nights, weekends, and holidays plus taking call at least 2 times per month.
• Must be able to respond to call within 20 minutes or less during all weather conditions. In case of bad weather, the hospital will provide a room, when feasible.
