Clinical Laboratory Scientist

About the Role

This position involves performing and interpreting a wide range of laboratory tests, from simple blood analyses to complex procedures, to support patient diagnosis and treatment. The role is within the Hematology department, requires alertness and safety consciousness, and involves working with hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and advanced laboratory analyses using established protocols.
• Interpret test results, communicate findings to physicians, and escalate abnormal results.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot complex laboratory equipment.
• Ensure quality control and proper storage of hazardous materials.
• Assist in selecting appropriate tests and stay informed of new developments through literature review and seminars.
• Participate in proficiency testing programs and perform preventive maintenance.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
• Relevant professional license/certification (e.g., ASCP certifications, CLT, CLS, or equivalent).
• No prior experience required.
• Physical ability to perform frequent lifting, standing, and repetitive movements.
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and effective communication skills.

Schedule

Work primarily on weekends with a 24-hour weekly schedule.
