About the Role
Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures, including specimen processing, testing, quality control, and instrument maintenance. Assists in developing new protocols, may perform phlebotomy and patient-oriented tasks, and ensures accurate reporting of results.
Operates and troubleshoots laboratory equipment, cross-trains across sections, and adheres to quality and safety standards. Utilizes the Laboratory Information System (LIS) to verify results and communicates critical findings. Participates in testing procedure evaluations and ensures compliance with regulatory and institutional policies.
Provides patient-centered care adapted to individual needs and demonstrates adherence to core values.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent training.
- No experience required for certain accredited graduates; typically, one year of clinical experience including various laboratory sections.
- Certification as MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from recognized agencies, with current licensure as required.
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment, perform quality control, and use LIS systems.
- Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and commitment to quality and safety.
