Clinical Laboratory Scientist- PRN

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and appropriate testing of specimens received in the laboratory, according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.
• Reports test results in a timely manner and according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.
• Fulfills quality control maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory instruments, equipment, and patient specimens.
• Maintains work area—cleans bench, restocks supplies, notifies supervisor of low stock.
• Performs daily, weekly, monthly, or as needed, maintenance on instruments and equipment as appropriate.
• Calibrates equipment as required.
• Troubleshoots instruments, equipment, reagents, and patient specimens when problems occur.
• Notifies the supervisor or senior tech if unable to solve the problem.
• Complies with established laboratory and hospital policies for universal precautions and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: Associates Degree Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology Required or Bachelor's Degree Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology Required.
• Licenses and Certifications: Clinical Lab Technologist Licensed State of Florida Upon Hire Required.
