Clinical Laboratory Scientist III

Analytical Services

• Analyze clinical laboratory specimens following standard methods and procedures.
• Perform tests, calibrations, and runs Quality Control materials at appropriate intervals.
• Evaluate results to decide whether tests should be reported.
• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Evaluate the acceptability of analysis prior to releasing patient results.

Department Management

• Directs activity and reporting of test results performed by non-licensed personnel.
• Consults personnel for technical errors in the department/shift he/she is responsible for.
• Accurately performs and records proficiency testing.
• Reviews monthly QC and Levy Jennings as applicable.
• Reviews monthly log sheets results as applicable.
• Performs and reviews bi-annual correlation and linearity as applicable.
• Inventory of supply and reagents of the department.

Supervision

• Responsible for one department / shift of the laboratory.

Qualifications

• Six years experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist required.
• Three Years Hospital Blood Bank Experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Six Months of hospital Microbiology experience required (for those specializing in Micro).

Licenses/Certifications

• Current CA License as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
