Perform laboratory tests to diagnose and treat patients in accordance with hospital protocols, CLIA and other regulatory standards.
Operate laboratory equipment to run tests and analyze results.
Communicate results of laboratory tests clearly and accurately to providers and other hospital staff.
Follow protocol and procedures to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
Maintain records and data on all laboratory tests.
Utilize computer systems and software to support laboratory operations.
Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of work area and equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, or in a related field.
- Must meet the CLIA’s (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment) regulations.
- Experience working in a healthcare laboratory.
- Able to prioritize tasks, follow a high level of detail, and adhere to time deadlines.
- Must be accurate and organized.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment and associated computer systems and software.
- Must have analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
