Job Requirements
- Certificate in chemical, physical, or biological science from an accredited institution
- Active Clinical Laboratory Scientist license in the State of California, or Active Clinical Laboratory Technologist license in the State of California
- Ability to demonstrate a familiarity and understanding of medical terminology, typing, math and computer skills
- Requires 1 year of training post baccalaureate
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years working in a laboratory setting
- Co-op or internship experience in a laboratory setting or prior acute care experience
Qualifications
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with patients, staff using a humanistic attitude (anticipates needs, is respectful, caring and courteous).
- Evaluates test results by accessing, calculating and verifying using instrument protocol from observed data and reports via LIS and / or phone
- Performs quality control tests evaluates data for accuracy and precision and troubleshoots problems if / when they occur
- Supports the quality control program appropriate for the testing performed and recognizes the parameters for acceptable levels of analytic performance and ensures that these levels are maintained throughout the entire testing process from the initial receipt of the specimen, through sample analysis and reporting of test results.
