Clinical Laboratory Microbiology Medical Director
About the role
The Department of Pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine and ARUP Laboratories is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Microbiology Medical Director. The successful candidate will serve as the Director of Parasitology and will be responsible for clinical test result interpretation and reporting, quality control and assurance, laboratory test development, teaching and training of fellows and residents, and committee service.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and report clinical test results
- Ensure quality control and assurance of laboratory tests
- Develop new laboratory tests
- Teach and train fellows and residents
- Serve on committees
Requirements
- MD, MD/PhD, or PhD degree with board certification or board eligibility in Medical Microbiology
- Experience and expertise in advanced molecular diagnostics, antigen detection, and/or serologic testing is desirable
Qualifications
- Strong clinical and academic background appropriate to level of training and experience
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
