Clinical Laboratory Extern - Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of duties, including but not limited to routine clerical functions, performs computer entry of physician orders, screens phone calls for test information, data entry and retrieval of patient's results, helps support the Laboratory computer system to ensure efficient operation of the Laboratory work flow.
• Performs laboratory tests in one or more of the fields of hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, biochemistry, microbiology, serology, and immunohematology in order to obtain data for use by the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
• Observes laboratory safety regulations.
• Performs and monitors daily quality control and instrument maintenance.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a formal laboratory externship program preferred.

Qualifications

Must be able to perform all duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Skills

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
