Summary
Collects blood and urine specimens, manages consumable material restocking, and assists with specimen collection procedures.Responsibilities
- Collects blood and urine specimens, including instructions, education, handling, packing, storage, and shipping of specimens.
- Maintains clean, well-stocked outpatient phlebotomy draw room, phlebotomy supply tray, other supplies and maintenance.
- Performs aliquot procedures, central storage specimens, and reagent retrieval procedures.
- Performs clerical and call center duties such as staffing the call center, filing, document quality control, and collection of surveillance data.
- Trains family and hospital personnel on specimen collection procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- No formal education required.
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
- Entry level experience not required.
- Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification from the American Allied Health recommended.

Skills
- Strong phlebotomy experience preferred.
