Responsibilities
- Follow established procedures to perform routine and STAT clinical laboratory testing in all areas of the laboratory.
- Accurately read, interpret, record, and maintain records of patient testing.
- Learn new procedures and assignments in a timely manner.
- Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of all technical procedures in the department and operation of all instrumentation.
- Review pending reports and investigate and manage all outstanding specimen/test issues and delays.
- Consult with or apprise CLS, Manager, or Medical Director regarding matters beyond own scope of responsibility or knowledge.
Requirements
- Valid Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) certification from the State of California required.
- Follows the State of California, DHS, Laboratory Field Services requirements of education for licensure of a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS).
- Two years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) preferred.
