Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist - Full Time - Offsite Lab - Experience Required

About the role

The Clinical Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist performs duties of Patient Registration, Central Processing and Phlebotomy. The incumbent will also perform specimen collection, receiving and distribution of specimens to the appropriate technical departments and will perform documentation of quality exceptions according to Laboratory protocol.

Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, and sort specimens.
• Draw blood using proper technique. Responsible for accurate patient identification.
• Accurately key and record patient information and laboratory orders into the information systems.
• Perform laboratory tasks of centrifuging specimens, printing extra labels, specimen storage and retrieval.
• Maintain competency in all phlebotomy procedures and protocols.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• A minimum of one-three years of Laboratory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Varying shifts covering offsites, draw stations and inpatient phlebotomy. Includes weekend and holiday rotation.
• Phlebotomy Experience Required!
