Clinical Lab Assistant II PRN

About the role

Catholic Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant II PRN to join their team. This position plays an integral role in the preparation and processing of clinical specimens and the performance of waived and/or Point of Care Testing.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and specimen processing
• Performs waived and/or Point of Care Testing
• Refers specimens to outside laboratories
• Maintains equipment and supplies
• Provides excellent patient service
• Ensures patients are provided with necessary information and is comfortable and safe, displaying excellent interpersonal skills with all patients

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1 year experience in laboratory clinical support preferred

Highlights

• Performs a variety of clinical support duties involved with the phlebotomy collection, accessioning, identification, and processing of clinical specimens and the performance, reporting and documentation of waived and/or Point of Care Testing in the clinical laboratory areas, to include microbiology, serology, chemistry, hematology, urinalysis.
• Plays an integral role in preparation of specimens sent to Reference Laboratories.
• Ensures patients are provided with necessary information and is comfortable and safe, displaying excellent interpersonal skills with all patients.
