Clinical Lab Assistant - Day Shift

Role Overview: This position supports technical laboratory staff by assisting with the collection, receipt, and processing of biological specimens, preparing samples for analysis, and performing waived or limited moderate complexity testing following CLIA guidelines. It reports to department leadership and performs duties aligned with established policies, regulatory standards, and professional practices. Key Responsibilities Process and prepare patient samples, ensuring correct identification and specimen integrity.Perform general specimen processing and referral lab tasks.Conduct waived and limited moderate complexity testing under supervision.Maintain laboratory equipment and assist with quality control, troubleshooting, and documentation.Support departmental financials through proper use of supplies, inventory management, and cost-reduction initiatives.Assist with miscellaneous duties such as phlebotomy and staff training.Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, promoting teamwork and professionalism. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent; phlebotomy/CLA certification required.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and computer proficiency.Effective reading, writing, math, and communication skills.Ability to follow instructions, multi-task, and problem-solve.Personal maturity, responsibility, and excellent customer service skills. Preferred Experience: Previous clinical laboratory experience, laboratory assistant training, knowledge of specimen handling, and medical terminology. Certifications and valid driver’s license may be required based on duties and location.
