About the role
The Radiologic Technology School Clinical Instructor is responsible for the direction, coordination, and daily operation of students at the Research clinical site. Duties include performing diagnostic imaging exams/procedures, clinical instruction, student supervision, student evaluation, and coordinating various clinical modality assignments.
Responsibilities
- Perform radiology procedures including diagnostic x-rays, portable radiography, fluoroscopy, and sterile contrast studies (lumbar punctures, myelograms, arthrograms, etc.)
- Coordinate with Research clinical staff to ensure the completion of daily tasks and workflow
- Conduct evaluations and competency testing for students, assessing their performance of various radiologic procedures and ensuring they meet the required standards
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, evaluations, room objectives, and advanced modality rotations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the new student application process, overseeing the shadow experience and participating in interviews
- Assist in maintaining quality assurance programs within the imaging department
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic technology either a two-year or four-year program
- Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience as a registered radiology technologist
- Proficiency in supervision, instruction, and evaluation
- Familiarity with standards needed for accreditation by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)
- Knowledge of diagnostic imaging equipment including associated patient monitoring equipment, PACS, scanning equipment, image generation equipment, teleradiology equipment, computers, RIS/HIS, phone, overhead projectors, fax, and paging systems
Qualifications
