CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR - CLINICAL PROFESSOR

Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and C. S. Mott Children’s Hospital at Michigan Medicine are recruiting for a full-time clinical Pediatric Endocrinology faculty member at the Clinical Assistant rank contingent upon qualifications.

About the role

The candidate will focus on providing exceptional clinical care to pediatric and young adult patients with diabetes mellitus and endocrine disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Transgender care experience is desired. The role also includes opportunities to engage in research as part of academic and scholarly activity, as well as participation in educational activities for trainees and medical students.

The Pediatric Endocrinology program at Michigan Medicine is a tertiary and quaternary referral center for Michigan and the upper Midwest, serving over 1,300 diabetic patients and 4,200 endocrine patients annually, translating to approximately 11,000 outpatient visits per year. The program is nationally ranked as one of the top 20 by U.S. News and World Report. C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital is ranked #7 in the Midwest and #1 in Michigan.

The University of Michigan Medical School hosts 29 departments and 15 major centers and institutes, consistently ranking in the top 10 NIH-funded medical schools. Faculty have the opportunity to collaborate with the newly established Caswell Diabetes Institute (CDI), which partners with 20 divisions and departments within Michigan Medicine and 14 schools across the U-M campus.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to pediatric and young adult patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Engage in research opportunities as part of academic and scholarly activity.
• Participate in educational activities for trainees and medical students.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree.
• Completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology.
• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics.
• Ability to obtain appropriate medical licenses in the State of Michigan.
• Evidence of excellence in clinical care and clinical and/or didactic teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in managing endocrine disorders related to Duchenne Muscular Disease and/or lipodystrophy.
• Transgender care experience.
