CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR- CLINICAL PROFESSOR

About the role

The Division of General Pediatrics at the University of Michigan seeks a 1.0 FTE Primary Care physician to provide clinical services at the Canton, MI pediatric outpatient site. The division comprises 65+ clinical faculty across nine ambulatory care sites in Southeastern Michigan, managing over 120,000 patient visits annually with same‑day appointments and evening/weekend hours. All sites are NCQA‑certified medical homes engaged in patient safety and quality improvement, and serve as continuity clinics for the general pediatrics training program and outpatient clerkships for U‑M medical students.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to patients at the Canton Health Center (and potentially at any of the division’s other eight sites as needed).
• Engage in 32 hours of direct patient care per week with 8 hours of allocated administrative time.
• Participate in the on‑call and Saturday rotation schedule.
• Contribute to the education of medical students and residents.
• Pursue opportunities for scholarly activity.
• Eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode at department discretion; work agreements reviewed annually.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or foreign equivalent degree.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Michigan.
• Certification by the American Board of Pediatrics.
• Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching.
• Rank of selected candidate (Clinical Instructor/Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical Professor) will be based on qualifications.
