Clinical Instructor
About the role
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine seeks a full-time, fixed-term faculty position at the master’s level to serve as a Clinical Instructor with the UNC Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team operating in Wake County.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate ACT services for an assigned group of individuals served by the ACT Team, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of evidence-based interventions, rehabilitation, and support services.
- Provide clinical leadership for the ACT program in collaboration with the ACT Medical Director.
- Supervise trainees during rotations or placement with the ACT Team.
- Participate in the supervision of staff and oversee day-to-day operations of the team.
- Provide clinical back-up for on-call staff and rotate on the on-call phone.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a human services field is required.
- Full licensure is preferred.
- Applicant must be a fully licensed or associate level licensed clinician in good standing with their respective practice board.
- Associate-level applicants must earn full licensure within 30 months of date of hire in accordance with NCDHHS Clinical Coverage Policy 8A-1.
- 2 years post-Master’s experience working with adults with SPMI is required.
- A valid North Carolina driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is required.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Experience working in Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT) or other community-based or outreach models is preferred.
- Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
