About the role

In this position, the IDD Assessor will conduct field-based IDD and SIS assessments while ensuring quality and compliance standards are met. The role also involves supporting related program responsibilities and participating in regular monthly team meetings. This is a hybrid remote opportunity with 75% travel required within Cumberland and York counties, Maine.

Maximus has been contracted to partner with the State of Maine Department of Health and Human Services – Office of Aging and Disability Services (OADS) to administer the Supports Intensity Scale for Adults (SIS-A) Assessments. This comprehensive planning tool measures exceptional medical and behavioral needs, as well as areas of home living, community living, lifelong learning, employment, health and safety, and social activities.

Responsibilities

  • Complete medical and/or behavioral health assessments within contract requirements.
  • Conduct on-site, video call, and/or telephonic assessments to determine an individual’s needs for services and supports, eligibility, level of care, or related outcomes.
  • Perform all job duties in compliance with Person First standards, HIPAA guidelines, and company confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Travel may be required based on program contract requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of direct experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities or Autism.
  • Experience conducting assessments in the field.
  • Obtain SIS-A certification upon completion of training.
  • Preferred knowledge may include community support programs, long-term care assessment, and level of care in medical, behavioral health, or related programs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical and/or behavioral health diagnoses and prescribed medications.
  • Ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • QIDP (Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional) or similar experience helpful.
  • ISP (Individual Support Plan) experience a plus.

Home Office Requirements

  • Maximus provides company-issued computer equipment and cell phone.
