About the Role
The Clinical Field Specialist at Inogen ensures patients receive equipment tailored to their clinical needs through remote or in-person assessments. This role involves instructing patients on the proper use and maintenance of Inogen-supplied equipment, addressing basic service inquiries, delivering and setting up equipment, conducting remote or in-person service calls, and coordinating equipment returns. The position is primarily remote, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining high professional standards. Travel within a 90-mile radius of the assigned location is required for in-person duties.
Responsibilities
- Perform equipment setup for patients, remotely via telephone or through in-home visits.
- Execute service calls (remote or in-person) and document activities and outcomes promptly.
- Maintain an up-to-date calendar reflecting availability for patient appointments.
- Interact professionally with patients, family members/caregivers, medical staff, and Inogen colleagues.
- Serve as a clinical resource to support the completion of clinical appointments.
- Adhere to regular and punctual attendance.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support Inogen’s mission.
- Travel within a 90-mile radius of the assigned location to conduct in-person patient visits and service calls.
- Flexibility to accommodate deliveries based on business needs (evenings, weekends, and holidays).
- Assist with overnight oximetry testing orders.
- Facilitate credit card payment authorization through the company-approved process.
Delivery locations include but are not limited to: patient’s home, hospitals, and rehabilitation/skilled nursing facilities.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Healthcare, Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, or a related field (required); Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Licensed or Registered Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse (required).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in clinical services or the home medical equipment industry (oxygen therapy or respiratory).
- A combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to the qualifications listed may be considered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (required).
- Ability to travel within a 90-mile radius of the assigned location as needed, with a personal vehicle.
Skills
- Proficient in remotely and directly assessing and educating patients on the safe use of Inogen equipment.
- In-depth understanding of current clinical issues and treatments related to cardio-pulmonary disease processes.
- Familiarity with modern technologies used in cardio-pulmonary disease treatment relevant to Inogen’s offerings.
- Ability to work independently and self-manage tasks effectively.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to high-quality patient care.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Pay
The base salary for this position is expected to be between $31.00 and $36.00 hourly, determined on an individualized basis considering skills, education, experience, and market location.
