About the role

Our Clinical Endoscopy Technicians work collaboratively to promote optimal diagnostic clarity and prevent delays in gastrointestinal care for both inpatient and outpatient populations. Functioning as a vital member of the healthcare team, you will perform selected patient care activities under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. By providing comprehensive procedural assistance and high-quality equipment management, our technicians proactively engage with patients to provide connection and clinical clarity. We view our endoscopy specialists as a critical component of the care plan and recognize the incredibly positive impact they have on the digestive health journey and outcomes of our patients.

A Typical Day

  • Assisting physicians and nursing staff directly during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Reviewing planned cases in advance, anticipating equipment and instrumentation needs, and ensuring rooms are fully prepared for efficient workflows.
  • Overseeing the specialized care, precise handling, and proper maintenance of complex endoscopy equipment and high-tech scopes.
  • Verifying physician orders, confirming correct patient identification using two distinct identifiers, and safely instructing patients on the upcoming procedure.
  • Proactively identifying and reporting safety issues, including hazardous environments, equipment errors, or technical defects.
  • Complying strictly with healthcare infection control protocols, departmental safety initiatives, and medical terminology documentation standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required.
  • Previous Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) experience required.
  • SGNA GI Technical Specialist Certification preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of medical terminology and general anatomy.
  • Weekday night and weekend on-call coverage rotations required.

Pay

$23.68 - $28.42 per hour

The compensation offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
