Responsibilities
- Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals
- Integrates theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles, and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members
- Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals, and seeks opportunities for achieving them
- Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs)
Requirements
- Education: Master’s Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master’s program upon start. If RN has a BSN and is enrolled in a Master’s program, the RN must:
- Meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to provide a written plan with anticipated Master’s completion date
- Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required prerequisites and timeline for taking the courses
- Complete Master’s within 3 years of start date
- Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
- Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License
