About the Role
Penn Medicine is dedicated to our tripartite mission of providing the highest level of care to patients, conducting innovative research, and educating future leaders in the field of medicine. This role supports the Acute Care and Critical Care inpatient nursing units on off-shifts by acting as a resource, promoting patient safety, and facilitating orientation and educational programming in collaboration with Unit-based Clinical Educators.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates clinical and technical proficiency while maintaining knowledge of hospital policies, nursing practice guidelines, and equipment to serve as a clinical resource and mentor to staff.
- Collaborates with Unit-based Clinical Educators to facilitate orientation and educational programs, ensuring compliance with hospital standards, the Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practice.
- Communicates effectively with nursing staff, patients, physicians, family members, and other healthcare team members to achieve excellence in patient care.
- Promotes patient safety through adherence to protocols, policies, procedures, evidence-based guidelines, and the Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals.
Requirements
- Education: BSN required; MSN preferred. Professional certification in area of specialty is also preferred.
- Experience: Three years of clinical experience.
- Other Skills: Teaching experience and proficiency with Microsoft Products.
