Clinical Director, Residential Recovery

About the role

The Clinical Director is responsible for all clinical programming and services delivered within the residency. In addition to providing training, supervision, and support to the recovery specialists, the Clinical Director provides supervision to the Family Therapist and is available to respond to emergencies at all times. The Clinical Director ensures compliance with all licensing regulations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for clinical services provided within the program.
• Complete intake assessments on all clients.
• Develop Individualized Action Plans (IAP’s) for all clients.
• Communicate with all collateral providers to ensure coordination of care (DCF, Probation, Parole, and Methadone clinic).
• Facilitate clinical team meetings.
• Review all clinical paperwork to ensure compliance with licensing and funding regulations.
• Manage, develop, and evaluate staff by providing timely mentoring, training, and performance management.
• Complete required paperwork in accordance with company policy.
• Follow evidence-based treatment protocols.
• Engage all clients by understanding and addressing their needs, whether within or outside the scope of work.
• Attend all required agency-wide meetings, including substance abuse team meetings.
• Attend and participate in engagement team meetings as requested and communicate effectively with clients and staff in other areas.
• Maintain confidentiality of client, employee, and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements.
• Ensure compliance with program/department, agency, and/or funder requirements, as well as SMOC policies and procedures.
• Responsible for program and client safety, with the ability to respond to emergencies at any time.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or Human Services.
• License preferred: LICSW, LMHC, LADCI, or LMFT.
• 5 years of clinical experience working with families and substance abuse.
• Knowledge of child development.
• Excellent organizational, training, and time management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
• Current certification in CPR and proof of TB status.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch break).
• 35 hours per week.
• Hybrid work option: Eligible to work from home 0-20% of the week in coordination with the department manager.
• On-call responsibilities for emergencies.

Organizational Relationship

Directly reports to the SMOC Director of Behavioral Health Care. Direct reports include Clinical Recovery Specialists and Family Therapist.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to ascend and descend stairs.

Working Conditions

• Direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
• A successful background check is required.
